Job Description

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Environmental and Permitting Office of the Ignitis Renewables team, where you’ll be responsible for environment and permitting activities for offshore wind project(s). If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Sufficient knowledge of the process, parties involved and capability to manage related issues for the offshore wind project: Territory planning, Environmental impact assessments, permitting etc.  
  • Collaborating with the development, operations and engineering teams to create an environmental permitting strategy for offshore projects which ensures all current and future projects adhere to permitting regulations and legislation in Lithuanian market 
  • Working closely in partnership with local authorities and communities to ensure that developed objects fulfill the required permitting processes successfully 
  • Resolving individual and organizational conflict by using effective negotiation and mediation strategies, including through constructively seeking appropriate internal assistance
  • Tracking and interpreting laws or regulations impacting the business and offers suggestions to functional managers seeking to ensure compliance. Supporting operations dealing with government agencies on environmental matters affecting the company
  • Assisting in identifying gaps in documentation, or potential areas of non-compliance, and suggesting resolutions. Gathering input of alleged compliance violations and calling out to executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Degree in an environmental management sciences, biology, engineering or relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience working the above-described area of responsibilities
  • In-depth knowledge of Lithuanian environmental regulatory requirements
  • Experience of preparation of Environmental impact assessment documentation and management of area of expertise. Experience in offshore and onshore wind projects would be considered as an advantage
  • Great communication and negotiation skills. Attitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to take strategic views of environmental sustainability requirements for the business.
