Job Description

We are currently looking for a new colleague to join the Environmental and Permitting Office  of the Ignitis Renewables team, where you’ll be taking care of onshore environment and permitting activities in Latvia. If that speaks to you, we’d be happy to welcome you to our team!

You will contribute to green and secure energy ecosystem creation by:

  • Managing the process, parties involved and related issues: environmental impact assessments, territory planning, environmental due diligence, site evaluation and etc.
  • Keeping close communication with the development, construction, operations and engineering teams to create an environmental permitting and operation strategy which ensures all current and future projects adhere to permitting regulations and legislation in Latvia market
  • Collaborating with local authorities and communities to ensure that developed objects fulfill the required permitting processes successfully
  • Serving as the primary point of contact both internally and externally in relation to environment
  • Translating complex problems into easily understandable tasks and tangible actions
  • Delivering specialist training and development across the business which meets Company vision and helps drive a culture of behavioral change
  • Liaising with the appropriate statutory bodies on behalf of the Company and its customers to ensure that regulatory requirements are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or higher degree in environmental management sciences, engineering or relevant field
  • 2+ years of experience working the above-described area of responsibilities 
  • In-depth knowledge of Latvia environmental and territory planning regulatory requirements
  • Experience of site-based audit, preparation of Environmental impact assessment documentation or other environmental documents. Experience in renewable energy area would be considered as an advantage
  • Great communication and negotiation skills. Attitude to solve problems quickly with advanced conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to take strategic views of environmental sustainability requirements for the business 
  • IT literacy knowledge – MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project)
  • Proficiency in English and Latvian language.
