Idahoan Foods is hiring a Packaging Supervisor in our Idaho Falls facility. This is a salary level position and pay will be based on experience and education. 

Job Description

The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for leading general operations of the Packaging Department. This position also monitors and controls product flow and process flow to ensure that quality and efficiency goals are met while ensuring a safe working environment. 


Operations Leadership: Ensure effective and efficient operations with a culture of continuous improvement. Monitor and adjusts product and process flow to ensure product meets quality and production operations standards. Review production plans with Packaging Manager to ensure maximum utilization of resources, while maintaining accuracy and efficiency. Ensure all proper procedures and documentation are in place. Responsible for machine set-up and programming to ensure equipment is maintained and running adequately

Personnel Leadership: The Packaging Supervisor provides direction, leadership, development, and support to packaging employees. Create and maintain a workplace culture that engages and motivates employees. Leadership of people includes participating in the hiring process, employee on-boarding, performance management and improvement actions. 

 Safety: Oversee production personnel to ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures. Manage compliance to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Safe Quality Food (SQF) production, Safety standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and all other plant policies and procedures.


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s Degree—in engineering, sciences or business preferred and more than five years' relative experience. 

Language Skills

Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required. Ability to read, comprehend, and compose simple to complex instructions, polices, procedures and correspondence. Exhibits effective speaking and written communication skills.

Computer Skills

Proficient is using Microsoft applications Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Reasoning Ability

Possesses strong analytical, quantitative, communication, problem solving, and technical skills.  Has the ability to creatively apply experience, and common sense for processes and employees. Demonstrates the self-confidence and maturity to make decisions and solve problems with minimal direction. Organized and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

Work Environment

The position is located in a food processing facility. Sixty percent of time will be on the production floor and forty percent of time will be in an office setting. Responsible for keeping work area clean, and for general clean ups during and after shutdowns. Able to work rotating shifts. 

Interpersonal Skills

Team player, flexible and accepts changing assignments and accountabilities.
