Additives International, one of 80+ business units owned by of ITW, manufactures and supplies specialty and innovative chemicals for the automotive aftermarket. Additives International manufacture products in Spain and Belgium, and commercialize around the globe serving markets in Europe, Middle East, Russia, Asia and Africa.

Job Description

The Business Unit Controller will be responsible for providing timely financial information and guiding effective business decisions that deliver profitable business growth. The Business Unit Controller will be responsible for maintaining effective internal control systems to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.

The role requires talent management skills to grow and develop a team.

FINANCIAL REPORTING AND ANALYSIS

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Business Unit financial information in compliance with ITW Policies and GAAP.
  • Prepare/review financial bridge schedules that explain financial results and submit to Senior Management.
  • Work with direct reports to prepare and analyze KPI's, Dashboards and Business Unit financial statements.

OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTING

  • Manage the financial activities of the Business Unit which includes Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll.
  • Assist the operating managers to make good business decisions based on finance data.
  • Ensure compliance with internal accounting controls.
  • Apply the ITW Principles (80/20, Product Line Simplification, Segmentation) and drive changes to eliminate complexity and improve the profitability of the company.

FINANCIAL PLANNING

  • Prepare the financials for annual plans, monthly outlooks, and other special analyses.

CAPITAL PLANNING

  • Perform “capital expenditures” audits that measure results of projects against original expectations and estimates.
  • Ensure that all “capital expenditures” projects and “capital expenditures” audit reports are completed and submitted to management on a timely basis.
  • Follow up and report the key performance indicators of the activity in the business.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT

Identify, lead and develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizational effectiveness in meeting company goals. 

This will include:

  • Regular communication to generate engagement, to share business strategy and goals, create alignment and reinforce commitment.
  • Attract, select and on boarding talent when needed.
  • Delivering effective feedback to motivate better performance and facilitate professional growth.

This will include:

  • Stock order & stock control
  • Leases
  • Insurances
  • Logistics Issues
  • Waste information

DIRECT SALES MODEL MANAGEMENT & CONTROL

Invoicing & commissions.

  • Salesmen’s contracts
  • Rebates
  • Promotions
  • Margin analysis
  • Sales reports
  • Customer Service issues

 

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Economics, Business Administration or similar
  • Minimum 5-year experience in financial reporting and analysis, cost reduction, inventory control, tracking and managing costs against a budget, and tracking P&L results and a good knowledge of the supply chain process .
  • Preferable experience in auditing and manufacturing sectors.
  • Preferable people management experience.
  • Travelling +/- 10%.
