Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the Regulatory department under ISO, EPA, FDA and other applicable standards under the supervision of the R&D Director.  The successful candidate will ensure compliance with consumer and production laws/regulations within the chemical manufacturing industry.  This manager will lead a team that will perform detailed inspections of raw material and finished good hazards, be proactive and up to date on current regulatory affairs, and co-ordinate business needs with other functions.  A high degree of independent work ability and individual initiative will be expected in fulfilling the requirements of this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills and communication to supervise the Regulatory department, deliver on company goals, and develop the team
  • Maintain regulatory updates for compliance with customer, ISO 9001, and government requirements and assure that the documents are controlled within ERP/QMS software
  • Manage regulatory finance schedule and report results to management
  • Work cross-functionally with operations (manufacturing, sourcing, purchasing) to oversee customer compliance, product labels, and assist with product launches
  • Assist with advanced troubleshooting on external and internal issues such as customer complaints, process deviations, incoming regulatory challenges, etc.
  • Present quarterly regulatory metrics to the leadership team and find opportunities for improvement in the data

 

Qualifications

Qualifications:

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-7 years of experience
  • <1 year of supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of industry and government regulations
  • Ability to train and mentor subordinates to maintain a strong team
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate and excellent organization skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision

 

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Proven portfolio management and project/process management experience.
  2. Business acumen and excellent presentation skills (to customers, vendors, senior internal staff).
  3. Experience in the Automotive industry.
