Job Description
MTS is seeking a highly organized and technically skilled Project Engineer with 3-5 years of experience to oversee the successful execution of projects from initiation through completion. This role involves managing the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and technical specifications, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver, able to balance multiple tasks and work collaboratively across various departments to meet project goals and deadlines.
Primary Objective:
As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of assigned projects, from the point of sale to customer acceptance. You’ll ensure that each project is executed effectively to maximize corporate profits, maintain MTS’s technical reputation, and strengthen our position in the marketplace. This role will involve working with custom mechanical, electrical, and software designs to ensure successful project performance across cost, schedule, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning: Review order confirmations, develop detailed project plans, and establish project teams, schedules, and budgets.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders (sales, application engineers, mechanical, electrical, software engineers, etc.) to ensure alignment on project scope, timelines, and technical requirements.
- Budget and Timeline Management: Continuously monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring that the project remains on track and under budget.
- Technical Problem Solving: Proactively identify and solve technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and customer expectations.
- Multitasking and Prioritization: Balance multiple priorities, adjust plans as necessary, and manage shifting priorities to ensure the timely completion of projects.
- Risk Management: Anticipate potential risks, especially regarding on-time delivery, and develop mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
- Safety and Quality Compliance: Ensure adherence to MTS safety processes and quality standards, maintaining a focus on delivering projects that meet or exceed contractual specifications.
- Communication and Accountability: Maintain clear and consistent communication with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are informed of project progress, challenges, and changes.
Qualifications
- BS degree in Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel up to 15%, both domestically and internationally.
- Proficient in Excel
- Experience with SalesForce preferred
- Strong collaborative and organization skills, with ability to adapt to quickly changing work environment
- Excellent communication skills, with a focus on clear, concise updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to flex hours to work with global teams.
- Proficient in risk assessment and revenue forecasting to ensure project success.
