Job Description

The Software Engineer II role is a member of the Application Software Development team at MTS Test & Simulation. The team is responsible for the design, creation, and continual improvement of MTS application software focused on high performance motion control and data acquisition systems.

Major Areas of Accountability

  • Design, develop, and implement new concepts and features in a complex, object-oriented system
  • Build robust software that provides outstanding customer experience
  • Be involved in the design and implementation of control and signal processing algorithms
  • Design, code, test, and document software solutions for specific customer feature requests
  • Work in Agile/Scrum and Stage-Gate development processes to deliver high quality software in a fast-paced environment
  • Plan and estimate software development efforts
  • Provide input on software development best practices in order to support our environment of continuous improvement
  • Feature development – including working with stakeholders (Product Management, QA, Tech support etc).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
  • 4+ years of progressively demanding software application development experience
  • Demonstrated ability to produce clean, efficient, and reliable code in C#
  • Proficient in developing and maintaining automated software tests
  • Creative thinker and strong problem solver
  • Ability and eagerness to take ownership of tasks and work with minimal supervision on the solution
  • Ability to communicate effectively and learn from others

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), UI/UX development
  • Experience with MVVM design pattern
  • Experience with Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server, and Git
  • Experience with Windows/RTOS (Linux), Python scripting etc
  • Strong communication skills in both verbal and written form with ability to influence others
