Job Description
- G/L and subledger management, including month-end close responsibilities:
- Review Accounts Receivable subledger, research and resolve account discrepancies
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and book necessary journal entries
- Assist Accounting Manager in Bad Debt/ Allowance for Doubtful Accounts calculation, if needed
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and company policies
- Cash and Accounts Receivables:
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile transactions for US based and international companies
- Applying deposits to correct accounts and invoices (daily)
- Invoice customers in ERP system and customer portals as necessary
- Review customer accounts and release orders on credit hold
- Assist in collections, which includes sending reminders and statements to assigned customers
- Maintain process narratives and manuals related to AR and Cash
- Assist both internal and external auditors during audit engagements.
- Identify process improvements, and assist in the implementation of company accounting policies and procedures.
- Provide support and work closely with Sales, Service, Customer Service and other departments on projects as assigned.
- Assist Accounting Manager/ Controller with budgeting and forecasting processes, if needed.
- Additional duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent work experience, Bachelor's degree a plus
- Minimum 3 years of previous accounting experience (manufacturing environment preferred)
- Required to be detailed, organized, able to work independently and know when to elevate issues for resolution
- Quick to learn and follow instructions
- Strong PC skills required, understanding of MS Excel (formulas, Pivot tables), Word and Outlook.
- Familiar and comfortable using complex ERP systems. Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics NAV a plus.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Continuous growth and improvement mindset
- Experience working with multinational companies and/or manufacturing companies a plus.
