Job Description
The IT Infrastructure Manager is a leadership role focused on driving ITW’s Corporate Office in technology strategy, overseeing on-prem IT infrastructure, and ensuring systems' security, compliance, and operational efficiency. This role prioritizes team development, effective workload management, and the alignment of technology solutions with organizational goals while fostering an innovative and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop and implement infrastructure roadmaps aligned with business objectives, coordinating across multiple functional IT teams.
- Lead multi-year transformation initiatives to enhance system efficiency and security, including cloud migration, disaster recovery planning, and legacy system retirements.
Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the architecture, performance, and security of infrastructure, including the on-prem data center, networking for the corporate office, and storage/backups.
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and resiliency of IT infrastructure, optimizing both physical environments to support business continuity.
- Implement and enforce policies for infrastructure standards, system monitoring, and preventive maintenance.
Security & Compliance
- Maintain security measures and compliance protocols in line with industry standards (HIPAA, PCI, SOX, NIST).
- Collaborate with the cyber security analyst to identify and mitigate infrastructure vulnerabilities.
- Promote and reinforce cybersecurity awareness in collaboration with the cyber security analyst.
Financial Management & Budgeting
- Develop and manage infrastructure opex and capex budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Drive cost-efficiency projects, forecast budgets, track expenditures, and manage vendor contracts.
Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and maintain a strategic portfolio of vendors for hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Negotiate contracts, establish SLAs, and ensure third-party providers meet service and compliance standards.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of network and server engineers, fostering a supportive, innovative, and collaborative work culture.
- Set goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide continuous feedback and recognition to promote growth and accountability.
- Champion cross-training and succession planning to build organizational resilience.
Project Management
- Oversee planning, execution, and deployment of large-scale IT infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and timelines.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes to maintain transparency and stakeholder engagement.

- Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of traditional infrastructure, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), networking (LAN/WAN/SDWAN), and cybersecurity.
- Financial Discipline: Skilled in managing IT budgets and driving financial efficiency while meeting operational needs.
- Strategic Influence: Strong communicator, able to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and build organizational alignment.
- Problem-solving: Effective at analyzing issues, making data-driven decisions, and implementing impactful solutions.
- Innovation: Encourages a culture of continuous improvement, promoting best practices and innovative approaches to IT management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- 10+ years in an IT infrastructure management experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role managing large-scale IT projects, cloud environments, and budgets.
- Certifications: Familiarity with ITIL, ITSM, and relevant certifications in cloud, network, or security management are advantageous.
- Ability to be onsite at the Glenview corporate campus 5 days a week with flexibility on hours.
