Job Description

Senior Machine Maintenance Mechanic Primary Objective:

Senior Machine Maintenance Technician’s responsibilities include wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining motor and control circuitry for both equipment and the facility. They ensure compliance with the National Electric Code (NEC), perform preventive maintenance, and work with engineering to develop process improvements. Additionally, they interpret technical documents, collaborate with teams, keep detailed records, and may travel globally to assist with project installations. These duties are crucial for maintaining efficient and safe operations within MTS Systems.
To keep machinery and mechanical equipment operated in the plant in good repair.

US citizenship is required to comply with all government regulations

Requires :  Certificate - Registered  Unlicensed Electrician 

Knowledge of NEC Codes and Experience working in manufacturing company. 

Major Areas of Accountability:

Maintains and repairs all assigned equipment in a professional and timely manner.

  • Functional and operational knowledge of hydraulic power units and distribution lines.
  • Adjusting various machines to insure efficient operation.
  • Trouble shooting / disassembling / diagnosing production machine mechanical and electrical problems.

Determining what parts are defective, locating proper parts and replacing same.

  • Operates equipment in a safe manner.
  • Keeps good record of time and material spent on specific machines.
  • General repair of tools, equipment, and devices.

Accepts responsibility and takes initiative for completing required operations in an efficient manner.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of his/her customers' expectations.
  • Takes initiative and makes decisions to meet the customers' expectations.
  • Develops solutions and resolves performance issues.
  • Estimates repair time and materials.
  • Provides feedback to area supervisor on machine problems, trends, and workloads.

Maintains Preventative Maintenance database.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on production equipment in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Keeps accurate inventory control of parts and supplies needed for preventative and curative maintenance.

Keeps informed on new products, equipment, and improved maintenance procedures and methods.

  • Maintains knowledge and training in industry, technology and MTS products.
  • Participates in required training.
  • Provides training (as appropriate for responsibility level).
  • Exhibits professionalism on the job at MTS 

Behaves in a respectful manner toward coworkers, engineers, supervisors and customers. 

  • Communicates effectively with coworkers, engineers, supervisors and customers.
  • Works and cooperates effectively with all company personnel to affect from and coordinate solutions to problems.

Keeps work area clean and well organized.
Performs other duties as assigned


 

Qualifications

  • US citizenship is required to comply with all government regulations
  • Two-year trade school training in machine maintenance and operation and 8+ years’ experience to include trouble-shooting and preventative type maintenance on machinery or high school/GED and 10+ years applicable experience in an applicable environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical wiring and mechanical machine functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of hydraulics.
  • Capable and able to become qualified to operate overhead hoists.
  • Certified to operate fork truck (or willing to be certified - company paid
