Summary:

Vulcan is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler for our Ranges (Stove) product line. The successful applicant will oversee daily production plans, control over all Range Finished goods inventory, coordinate and drive continuous improvement planning processes, and operate with safety excellence.

 

Job Description

 

  • Monitor and schedule new customer orders for Range (Stove) product line based on raw materials availability and production team capacity.
  • Prepare and own the production/build plan to meet customer due dates and stock levels.
  • Address production changes when customer expedites, postponements, quantity or product changes are needed.
  • Manage purchasing and stock levels for all outsourced accessory kits that are used with Range device products.
  • Coordinate/Liaise with Engineering team when new devices or accessory kits appear for scheduling to ensure accuracy and set up completion.
  • Provide high quality production plans to production floor supervisors at least 48-hrs in advance.
  • Create and order serial numbers and plates for all Range devices for production.
  • Communicate/Order any ‘special’ or non-stock range modules with production team by specifying unique features and due dates.
  • For urgent customer orders, coordinate shipping directly from factory by preparing logistics, processing, and paperwork.
  • Meet On Time Delivery targets for assigned products.
  • Review inventory aging and volume reports to reduce slow moving or obsolete products. 
  • Provide product lead time information to Customer Service and Sales Personnel for designated products. 
  • Extract and interpret system generated data reports, and when applicable, address outstanding items timely.
  • Evaluate Returned Material/Orders (RMAs) to determine disposition plan and file freight claims when necessary.
  • Cross-train in other Operations support roles to assist with coverage when needed.

 

Qualifications

 

Education/Experience:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a Business, Engineering, or Industrial/Technical field is preferred.

Candidate should have at least 2 years’ experience in production coordination or experience in a manufacturing environment or professional setting.

Skills/Ability:

  • Demonstrated drive for customer satisfaction and timely responses needed to win orders.
  • Understand or have experience with product assembly operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Safety procedures, PPE standards, and driving a safe work culture.
  • Carry a professional demeanor, work well with anybody, with a skill for conflict avoidance and resolution.
  • Foster a spirit of teamwork and cooperation and lead by example.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, Outlook, and ERPs systems.
  • Ability to execute a plan/objectives and thrive in fast paced work environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and with multiple priorities

 

Additional Information

  • This position is 100% in-office.
  • Requires multiple trips to manufacturing plant floor daily.
  • Requires use of PPE (steel toes, gloves, safety glasses) daily.
  • Some travel as necessary (<5%)
  • Week/weekend overtime as necessary
