This position will be based out of our headquarters facility in Hatfield, PA (Suburban Philadelphia). In addition to our Pennsylvania operations, Brooks maintains manufacturing locations in, Hungary, and Korea. The Company also maintains sales offices throughout the world. Our products are used in laboratory and process applications in end markets such as: life sciences, chemicals, semiconductor, analytical instruments, nuclear, and solar cells.
Job Description
Basic Function
Develop fixturing, tooling and processes to support new product releases aimed toward the Semiconductor market.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design or assist in the design of flow measurement and flow control devices while maintaining project schedules.
- Develop/design/build and implement pneumatic test systems to support production processing of new products.
- Work with automation groups to develop functional requirements for new manufacturing tests systems.
- Develop theoretical models (fluid, thermal, structural) to assist the design and development of novel flow control devices.
- Design molded, welded, etched, stamped, machined, and extruded components to support development of test stands and processes.
- Create 3D models and production drawings for components and assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Design and fabricate fixturing/tooling for proper assembly and testing of precision components.
- Direct and or perform design verification and validation testing of new designs.
- Collaborate Cross functionally with Electrical, Firmware, Test, and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize designs for performance and manufacturability
- Work with Marketing to determine/gather product performance requirements.
- Design and validate new production processes for global manufacturing sites and service centers.
- Design assignments may be occasionally broad in nature, requiring originality and ingenuity.
- Support company continuous improvement initiatives, particularly as related to product quality.
- Maintain and enhance department safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- BS in Mechanical Engineering desired.
- 5 years experience in high precision mechanical design or flow/pressure component/instrumentation required.
- Machine shop experience required.
- Ability to use machine shop equipment as required.
- Experience in manufacturing and assembly required.
- Ability to make technical contributions to a multi-disciplinary team required.
- Experience in test and analysis required.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook required.
- Technical report writing skills required.
- Ability to lead and manage small scale projects required.
- Ability to read and understand detailed technical drawings and specifications required.
- 3D CAD Modeling, Production level Drawing generation and CAD database experience required using SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
- Mathcad, LabView, Python experience a plus.
