Job Description
Alpine is seeking a Software Developer II to join our Ft. Lauderdale office. In this role, you'll join an agile scrum team responsible for creating software features within Alpine’s suite of software products. The Software Developer II will participate in all areas of development including design, coding and testing in collaboration with the team and aligned with company standards and guidelines. Candidates with a background in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering) are preferred.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with an Agile Scrum team to develop, test, and maintain web and desktop-based software products
- Analyze and provide solutions to technical problems and projects
- Develop automated unit tests for applications according to company standards
- Participate in peer review sessions of solutions and related code, ensure software quality throughout the complete SDLC
- Prepare software documentation including technical diagrams and manuals on the design, use, and operation of the software
- Analyze and provide solutions to technical and application problems
- Aid in gathering and documenting requirements in the form of Agile Epics, User Stories, and tasks
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering related fields. Candidates with a background in Engineering (Structural, Mechanical, Civil or Mathematics) are preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience as Software Developer
- Advanced understanding of the development lifecycle using Agile with Scrum/Kanban and able to coach/mentor others on the lifecycle
- Proficiency with three (3) or more of the following languages: C++, C#, JavaScript, PHP, Python, SQL, Ruby, Java, HTML, TypeScript
- Proficiency with one or more RDBMS platforms or NoSQL data platforms
- Solid understanding of Computer Science fundamentals
- Understanding and application of SOLID principles of software design
- Able to analyze and generate solutions to complex problems with assistance
- Make recommendations and outline pro/cons
- Implement action plan with help
- Mentor and collaborate with the team as needed
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills
