Job Description

Provide on-site support for the Instron product range, including, but not limited to calibration, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of EM, SH and CEAST materials testing systems and other after sales warranty services, as specified by the Service Operations Supervisor or Team Lead.

  • Proactively look for leads for new machines, accessories and other services.
  • Be familiar with the company’s product life cycle in order to be able to advise customers regarding obsolescence.
  • Report on competitive equipment and activities at customer sites.
  • Ensure that adequate preparation and planning is made before each visit so that the job is completed correctly without the need for further follow up visits.
  • Ensure that planning for visits including travel is carried out in the most cost-efficient way and that there is smooth pre-visit and post visit communication with the customer.
  • Deliver basic Instron software training to customers, when required.
  • Reponsible for quality of own work.
  • Ensure all administration is accurate and up to date, to the latest company requirements using the tools provided.
  • To submit expenses and other paperwork within the required timeframe.
  • Contribute to the company's efforts to improve customer satisfaction, reduce costs and improve quality using the ITW Toolbox and other processes as required.
  • Carry out any other ad hoc duties, as requested, in line with the requirements of the role in order to support the Service department and wider business.

Qualifications

  • Relevant technical qualification - mechatronics, mechanics, electrical, electronic engineering or equivalent
  • Full, clean, local driving license without restrictions

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • A variety of environments with limited physical discomfort due to temperature, noise, dust etc.
  • The job holder will be required to be on their feet for a large part of the day, and some manual handling is required.
  • Ability to travel at short notice in Italy, EU and outside of the EU.
