Job Description

This role is based in Houston and is not eligible for remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Leading change management as it relates to product design changes driven by product/quality improvement, supply changes, regulatory requirements, and cost reduction for existing products
  • Supporting scale-up of manufacturing at internal and external manufacturing sites for new product development, key member of new product development team to ensure continuity of product support post-launch
  • Building and maintaining relationships with both internal and external manufacturing sites and suppliers to support change management
  • Ensure manufacturing sites, both internal and external, have proper QA systems in place for the quality and consistency of the products made at those sites. Drive the QA capability of the manufacturing sites through regular QA audits.
  • Own the product quality measures (PQM). Support the round robin testing program. Work with the manufacturing sites and/or product developers on any found variations or discrepancies for resolutions and improvements.
  • Work closely with Customer Inquiry team management to gain visibility to quality trends and provide resolutions and improvements.
  • Leading and supporting cross-functional product improvement projects to enable accelerated business growth and further our competitive position in the marketplace
  • Assisting with complaint resolution and reduction projects, as necessary
  • Using root cause analysis to identify failure modes, applying problem solving skills to investigate and generate supporting data that enable appropriate decision making at management level
  • Maintaining product design and management of change documentation in compliance with business and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry preferred 
  • One to five (1-5) years of experience in product engineering, quality, and process improvement in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional Qualifications

  • Strong, demonstrated use of project management techniques to lead cross-functional teams in projects that drive improvement and proven results
  • History of effective execution of change management, root cause analysis, and issue resolution
  • Statistical knowledge and practice (e.g. Design of Experiments (DOE), Sampling Plans, Statistical process control, PPU, and/or Lean Six Sigma).
  • Experience working with suppliers and external manufacturers
  • Experience with consumer or industrial product development/engineering
  • Familiarity with applicable product development and safety standards (ISO, UL, ASTM, etc)
