Job Description

Illinois Tool Works (ITW) is a Fortune 200 company that produces diversified products in global markets.  Some of its products include welding equipment, automotive components, construction materials and commercial food equipment.  The Food Equipment Group is one of seven ITW decentralized business segments.  We are seeking an Accounting Manager for the Warewash Division located in Troy, Ohio, approximately 20 minutes north of downtown Dayton. This position works in-office at the Warewash manufacturing facility.

The Warewash Division is seeking to expand its growth in existing served markets as well as new markets.  We produce Hobart branded commercial dishwashers that are used in airports, cruise ships, industrial and government operations, and beyond.  We are in search of an Accounting Manager responsible for the preparation of monthly financial statements that can ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and ITW corporate policies.  This position reports to the Plant Manager, as a member of the site leadership team, with dotted line responsibility to the Division Controller. It is an individual contributor role that offers potential opportunities for future expansion of responsibilities and career growth.

What you will do and impact:

Accounting Management, Analysis and Reporting:

  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closing process.
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording, analysis, and reporting of financial transactions in compliance with applicable accounting guidelines.
  • Prepare accurate management reporting and communicate the results effectively.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identify trends, and provide meaningful insights to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Leverage available tools and technologies to analyze data to support process improvements and operational decisions.
  • Prepare capital expenditure projects.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Assist employees in understanding how decisions impact the financials, identify and communicate key business drivers, and provide training to enhance overall financial awareness.
  • Lead and own the annual physical inventory process.

Cross Functional Collaboration:

  • Apply 80/20 thinking to reduce complexity and simplify processes.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects within the Division.

  • Flexibility: Work in office at the production site and be open to minimal travel as required to fulfill job responsibilities.

Qualifications

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to work independently and with cross functional teams
  • Analytical skills and ability to interpret financial data
  • Advanced knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principals
  • Knowledge of federal, state and country financial regulations
  • Excel proficiency
  • Proficiency using financial accounting software applications
  • Knowledge of GAAP

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting
  • 3+ years of relevant experience
  • ERP and Financial Reporting software experience
