ITW Polymers Sealants North America, Inc. offers expanded sealants solutions to various industries and its key markets including construction (roofing, surfacing, metal building, and fenestration), aerospace composites and wind energy. Our brands with a proven history of success include ERSystems®, Permathane®, Tacky Tape®, STA’-PUT®, Pacific Polymers®, Acryl-R®, Miracle®, and Elastek®.
The Packaging Operator is responsible for packaging material in preparation for shipment.
Prepare product for packaging per work order instructions.
Coordinate the packing process, set up packing equipment and obtain the proper packaging container(s) per the work order list.
Pour product and/or fill containers from spout or chute per packaging instructions.
Monitor container weight during and after the fulfillment process to ensure the proper weight requirements have been met, adjusting product quantity as necessary.
Close and seal finished product container(s).
Label containers, container tags, and/or product containers in preparation for shipment.
Sort and package filled containers per packaging instructions, packing special arrangements or selections of product as necessary.
Record information such as weight, time, date packaged and lot number.
Assist in monitoring inventory of packaging materials in order to maintain the proper levels of stock to meet production demands.
Provide Laboratory Department with packaged product samples as requested.
Monitor quality of product through constant visual check to ensure no discoloration and/or debris is in the finished product.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
Forklift Certification required (or ability to attain certification)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Competence in math computation necessary (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions, and to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to communicate in English: read, write and speak.
Ability to read and interpret technical directions.
Ability to use basic hand-held measuring tools.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
One (1) to three (3) months related packaging experience in a manufacturing environment
