Job Description

This position is to operate the two-cartridge filling Prosys machines in the Prosys room.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   •  Prepare product for packaging per work order instructions.
  • Operate the two-cartridge filling machines with minimal supervision
  • Record daily packaging on inventory sheets
  • Maintain a clean working area
  • Monitor container weight during and after the fulfillment process to ensure the proper weight requirements have been met, adjusting product quantity as necessary.
  • Sort and package filled containers per packaging instructions, packing special arrangements or selections of product as necessary.
  • Record information such as weight, time, date packaged and lot number.
  • Assist in monitoring inventory of packaging materials in order to maintain the proper levels of stock to meet production demands.
  •  Provide Laboratory Department with packaged product samples as requested.
  • Monitor quality of product through constant visual check to ensure no discoloration and/or debris is in the finished product.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Competence in math computation necessary (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions, and to resolve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Language /Mathematical Skills

  • Ability to communicate in English: read, write and speak.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical directions.
  •  Ability to use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  •  Competence in math computation necessary (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure).

Reasoning Ability

  •  Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and/or oral instructions.
  •  Ability to resolve problems practically, involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Education

  •  High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  •  Forklift Certification required (or ability to attain certification)
  •  One (1) to three (3) months related packaging experience in a manufacturing environment

  •  A manufacturing area with limited heat or air conditioning. Conditions may be cold or extremely hot and humid.
  • Exposure to the hazards of moving equipment, high voltage, and moving mechanical parts that require use of Personal Protective Safety Equipment (PPE’s) including steel toed shoes, safety goggles, back brace. Occasional use of a respirator required.
  • Exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles.
