Job Description
As a Custom Agent at ITH Trading Partner, you will be responsible for facilitating smooth and efficient customs clearance processes for our clients' shipments. You will serve as a liaison between our clients, government agencies, and transportation providers to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customs procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee the customs clearance process for import and export shipments.
- Prepare and submit customs documentation, including import/export declarations, invoices, and other required paperwork.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant customs regulations and requirements, including tariff classifications, duty rates, and trade agreements.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and provide updates on the status of their shipments.
- Liaise with government agencies, such as customs authorities and border control, to resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with transportation providers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to expedite customs clearance and delivery.
- Stay informed about changes to customs regulations and industry trends, and advise clients accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records of customs transactions and documentation for audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, international trade, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in customs brokerage or international logistics.
- Strong knowledge of customs regulations, tariff schedules, and trade compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in using customs clearance software and online portals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and analytically.
- Certification as a Customs Broker (preferred).
