Job Description

The Junior Architect / Designer demonstrates an understanding of the relationship between design and constructability. The role is responsible for fostering and maintaining a collaborative, professional working relationship with the project team.

Essential Duties

  • Design conceptual floor plans and development layouts

  • Create drawings and renderings - manually or computer assisted

  • Prepare client presentations

  • Perform calculations and analyses for project quantity take offs

  • Analyze and develop the creation and modification of architectural documents, floor plans, elevations, sections, details, specifications, etc. ensuring the incorporation of design intent

  • Knowledge of building codes – ability to research, apply and incorporate into technical documents

  • Participate in internal and external team meetings to help resolve project issues, and ensure coordination with other disciplines

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of architectural building systems
  • Possess strong hand drawing, graphic and design skills
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required
  • Proficiency in Revit preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) preferred
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Rhino, 3D Studio, Sketch Up
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience working in a creative and technically-balanced environment
