iSearch Worldwide is a global executive recruiting firm.   Our client is the top global online career services firm.  We are recruiting an Engineering Team Manager - Online Services for their Tokyo team.  

·English fluency required. No Japanese language experience required

You will be part of the emerging hybrid business and development model for Japanese multinationals.  

Responsibilities

·Manage a core team of 6 or 7 web development engineers

·Develop new product features and enhancements from upstream process through to shipping

·Communicate regularly with Product Management to modify and enhance service concept using prototyping and mockups.  

·Write easily maintained, high performance code and re-usable components.

·Develop strong web services that enhance and delight the user experience

·Develop and maintain best practices and encourage excellent quality of communications.

Skill and Experience Requirements (Mandatory) 

·3 plus years experience in engineering management

·5 plus years of hands-on programming track record

·3 plus years of Web programming

·Strong ability to develop efficient and maintainable code

·Adaptability of programming skills to services

·Strong team communication skills

·Intellectual curiosity and drive to solve issues. Persistence.  

·Meet personal and team goals consistently under ambiguous and shifting timelines and requirements.  

·BS in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience 

Requirements  (Desired)

·Track record in programming a high traffic website and performing trouble-shooting and enhancements on the fly

Background

·A degree in Computer Science (Prefer from a highly ranked university)
