Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Fund Accountant to join our Real Estate & Infrastructure team. This hands-on role is responsible for the day-to-day financial management and reporting of a portfolio of real estate and infrastructure funds, ensuring the delivery of accurate, timely, and high-quality financial information to clients and stakeholders. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing fund accounting activities, including financial reporting, cash management, tax reporting, investor reporting, and month-end and year-end close processes. Working closely with clients, auditors, tax advisers, and internal teams, you will help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support the efficient operation of complex investment structures. We are looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with strong technical accounting expertise and a client-focused mindset. What you'll do

  • You'll review and maintain accurate accounting records, NAV calculations, fee calculations (including management and performance fees), and investment transactions for real estate investment funds.
  • You'll oversee fund operations by managing capital calls, accruals, invoices, payments, investor reporting, and ensuring all reporting deliverables are accurate and submitted on time.
  • You'll prepare and review financial statements, perform variance analysis (including rent and lease-related adjustments), and support year-end audits and financial reporting requirements.
  • You'll ensure compliance with regulatory and tax obligations by reviewing ATO filings (ITR, BAS, IAS, AIIR, etc.), monitoring fund activities, and minimizing operational and compliance risks.
  • You'll collaborate with clients, investors, and stakeholders through regular meetings, relationship management, and timely responses to inquiries regarding fund activities and performance.

Process Improvements and Team collaboration (Leadership):

  • Assist set up procedures for accurate data processing and update for continuous improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet with performance expectations.
  • Assist developing an activity-based worksheet for team members for each fund.

Cross - Team collaboration:

  • Collaborate with onboarding team including compliance team, trustee team and all other team across the business for client onboarding and set up.
  • Attend external meetings online/offline with various other cross-team members.

Qualifications

About you

Knowledge, Skill and Expertise

  • You have 5–7 years of experience in fund accounting, investment operations, or a related financial role, with strong knowledge of Australian Income Tax, GST, and tax requirements for non-resident investors.
  • You hold a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, along with a professional accounting qualification such as CA, CPA, or ACCA.
  • You possess a solid understanding of trusts, property acquisition and disposal accounting, compliance obligations, and fund administration systems such as Yardi.
  • You demonstrate excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to effectively engage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You are highly organized, deadline-driven, and capable of working independently and collaboratively, with strong business process knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and critical-thinking skills.
