Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Private Equity Fund Accounting role is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality accounting, financial reporting, and client service activities for complex private equity fund clients. As the primary owner of client deliverables, you will oversee NAV reporting, financial statements, investor reporting, and fund administration processes while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. This role combines technical accounting expertise with people leadership, requiring you to coach teams, manage stakeholder relationships, drive operational excellence, and support process improvements. Success in this position comes from balancing client expectations, developing talent, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery and risk management.

What You'll Do

  • You'll lead the preparation and review of NAV calculations, financial statements, capital call and distribution activities, investor notices, and other complex private equity fund reporting deliverables.
  • You'll manage client deliverables end-to-end, ensuring quality, accuracy, compliance, and adherence to agreed timelines and service level expectations.
  • You'll supervise, coach, and develop team members by providing technical guidance, performance feedback, workload management, and professional development support.
  • You'll collaborate with clients, auditors, investors, and internal stakeholders to resolve queries, address escalations, and maintain strong working relationships.
  • You'll drive operational excellence by optimizing processes, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing risks, supporting fund onboarding and system conversions, and improving team performance against key business metrics.

Qualifications

  • You hold a degree in Accounting or a business-related field and have 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • You have strong experience in private equity or fund accounting, including financial statement preparation, NAV reporting, working papers, and client deliverables.
  • You possess sound knowledge of IFRS, Ind AS, and US/UK/Lux GAAP, with experience reviewing financial statements and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting platforms such as Investran and/or Paxus, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • You demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities within a financial services environment.
