Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with deep expertise in U.S. partnership taxation, particularly within private equity structures, including private equity funds, management companies, and general partners. This role is responsible for leading and developing a team of tax professionals, managing complex client and stakeholder relationships, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality tax compliance and advisory services. The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, oversee resource planning and quality control, support professional development, and provide guidance on complex tax matters while maintaining accountability for team performance, service delivery, and stakeholder satisfaction.


What you'll do

  • You'll review U.S. federal and state partnership tax returns (Forms 1065, K-1, K-2/K-3) and corporate tax returns (Form 1120), ensuring accurate, timely filings and compliance for private equity funds, management companies, and general partners.
  • You'll provide technical leadership on partnership taxation, including allocations, basis calculations, carried interest, tax planning strategies, quarterly and annual estimates, extensions, and evolving U.S. tax regulations and IRS guidance.
  • You'll lead, coach, and develop a team of tax professionals by setting performance goals, conducting regular feedback and one-on-one meetings, identifying training needs, supporting onboarding, and driving professional growth.
  • You'll oversee operational excellence through resource and capacity planning, quality assurance, process standardization, policy compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain high service standards.
  • You'll manage stakeholder and client relationships, maintain knowledge of client agreements and service requirements, serve as the primary escalation point for complex issues, and collaborate with Assistant Managers to ensure successful service delivery and long-term partnerships.

Qualifications

  • You have a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field; CA, ACCA, ACA, or semi-qualified CA credentials are preferred, along with 10+ years of experience in U.S. partnership taxation, particularly within private equity structures.
  • You possess strong technical expertise in Subchapter K, partnership allocations, basis calculations, and related U.S. tax regulations, as well as proficiency in tax compliance software (e.g., GoSystem) and advanced Excel skills.
  • You have proven experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing teams, including performance management, professional development, capacity planning, resource allocation, and KPI-driven operational excellence.
  • You demonstrate a strong track record of implementing quality assurance, process standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives while aligning team objectives with broader organizational goals.
  • You excel at managing complex client and stakeholder relationships, resolving escalated issues, influencing across all organizational levels, and applying strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, with flexibility to work U.S. shift hours.
