Job Description

The Assistant Accounts Officer provides support to department activities with specific responsibility for the processing, recording, updating and reconciling information in compliance with established policies and procedures and to prepare and input information for the purpose of generating accounts and management information for IQ EQ group entities. 

  • You’ll manage day-to-day accounting operations, including processing service requests, invoices, credit notes, purchase ledger activities, banking transactions, and reconciling bank and credit card statements.

  • You’ll support financial close and reporting, preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts, cash reports, statutory returns, and assisting with statutory financial statements and group reporting requirements.

  • You’ll oversee transaction accuracy and cash management, handling client disbursements, ensuring proper reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records in line with policies and procedures.

  • You’ll collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, responding to queries and liaising with senior management, auditors, banks, government agencies, and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

  • You’ll drive compliance and continuous improvement, supporting month-end close, assisting leadership, and ensuring accounting policies, systems, and processes operate effectively while supporting credit control activities.

Qualifications

  • You hold a degree in Finance, Management, Accounting, or Economics, or are partly qualified (ACCA/CA Inter or equivalent).

  • You bring at least 2 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting, with a solid understanding of core financial processes.

  • You demonstrate strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, with the ability to apply them accurately in day-to-day tasks.

  • You show attention to detail and a proactive approach, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial outputs.

  • You possess good organisational and communication skills, enabling you to manage responsibilities effectively and collaborate within a team environment.
