Job Description

Job Summary:
The primary technical expert responsible for ensuring excellence in complex corporate accounting services through expertise and final review authority. This role serves as the ultimate subject matter expert for the team on complex accounting matters, leading technical decisions and process innovations while providing authoritative guidance on sophisticated client portfolios and advanced accounting topics including consolidation, foreign currency transactions, and complex revenue recognition scenarios.
Core Responsibilities:
• Serve as ultimate technical authority at a team level for complex accounting matters
• Provide final review of sophisticated accounting deliverables
• Drive technical excellence and innovation in accounting processes
• Lead development of technical standards and methodologies within the team
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory requirements, and internal policies
• Establish and maintain technical best practices
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, addressing queries and issues
• Guide technical development of team members through specific training, coaching and feedback
• Function as primary technical expert for complex accounting areas including consolidation and statutory reporting
Tasks:
• Review complex deliverables
• Address and resolve complex technical accounting queries independently
• Lead implementation of new technologies or processes
• Manage team deliverables through regular meetings and feedback
• Train and coach Accountants 1-3, Senior Accountants, and new team members
• Monitor Quality KPI for team deliverables
• Attend to cluster queries
• Review complex financial statements and reports
• Implement process improvements within the team
• Contribute to employee performance evaluations as asked by Manager
• Monitor quality standards and compliance requirements
• Perform other related duties as assigned for role and business needs

Qualifications
ABOUT YOU
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA or equivalent professional certification (preferred)
- Advanced certifications or training in specialized areas (e.g., IFRS, GAAP, Taxation) are an asset
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience, 4 years of which are in corporate accounting
- Expertise in complex accounting matters including consolidation and foreign currency transactions
- Strong background in developing technical standards and process improvements
