Job Title: IT Architect
Location: Detroit, MI
Long Term contract
 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Description:
Responsible for market solutions architecture deliverables
Provide support, guidance, and facilitate development of architecture required to meet business strategies and goals
Analyze business drivers and current IT environment and recommend scalable and reusable optimal solutions
Interface with external and internal stakeholders and vendors to identify and/or analyze business problems and develop solutions
Responsible to ensure that solutions are successfully enabled at a group customer level across a broad array of both vendor-delivered and internally delivered programs with standardized and operationally efficient processes and architecture
Provide guidance on developing new capabilities while aligning with business strategy and direction while ensuring value

Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Responsible for establishing deep relationships with key business & IT counterparts, develop and maintain long-term business capability roadmap, and providing architecture, design.
Develop, review and communicate standard industry best practices & guidelines, align with BCBSM’s enterprise policies, procedures and modernization efforts to promote scalable/reusable architecture solutions.
Support design/development team by consulting prior to and during business case development.
Engage with other Market Solution teams/leads in bringing value by leading the end to end system design optimization effort, reusability of systems/business capabilities across market portfolio and integrating with other business areas.
Collaborate with business and IT / IT architecture to translate business strategies and related capabilities to support solution design, evaluation, estimation and development with key focus on value creation and asset reusability.
Work with business and IT in validating solution estimation and ensure alignment with BCBSM best practices.
Support business teams to develop and execute User Acceptance Test (UAT).
Support/manage continuous improvement projects across the end-to-end delivery of solutions.
Support product managers to resolve or trouble shoot issues with delivery of solutions post-implementation.
Consulting knowledge to provide technical or business guidance both internally and externally.
Extensive knowledge and experience with products and services to apply appropriately to diverse situations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Technology
Master’s Degree preferred
At least five (5) years of experience in architectural support
Knowledge and understanding of architecture, application design, systems engineering, and integration required
Hands-on involvement in Agile/waterfall, Lean Startup-Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and outcome-based delivery models preferred
Ability to foster teamwork and work effectively in a cross-functional team environment across solution design, implementation, solution management, IT and other project teams
Ability to deal with changing situations while solving complex problems
Ability to consult with product designers/developers to translate visions into IT specifications
Excellent organization skills and ability to effectively multitask in a dynamic and fast paced environment
Advanced analytical, verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
