We are seeking an experienced Offshore Coating Supervisor for a major offshore development project in Suriname. The role will supervise and monitor coating, painting and insulation activities onboard offshore installation vessels, ensuring that Contractor and Subcontractor activities comply with approved technical, QA/QC and H3SE requirements.
The position will act as the project team's focal point for coating activities and will work closely with the Company Site Representative, SURF Installation Manager, Contractors and QA/QC teams.
Job Description
- Supervise offshore coating, painting and insulation activities onboard installation vessels.
- Ensure approved coating procedures, ITPs and surveillance plans are fully implemented.
- Monitor Contractor and Subcontractor compliance with technical and H3SE requirements.
- Review coating procedures, inspection documentation and technical deliverables.
- Verify material certificates and calibration records are valid and up to date.
- Perform routine and random inspections of coating activities and workmanship.
- Monitor Contractor QC inspection activities and challenge non-conformities.
- Identify, report and follow up anomalies and quality deviations.
- Ensure coating deliverables are issued on time and meet project requirements.
- Support QA/QC and Subsea Engineering teams during installation activities.
- Participate in daily coordination and project meetings.
- Act as the Company focal point onboard the vessel for coating activities and emergencies.
- Provide daily progress and activity reports to the SURF Installation Manager.
- Support the Site Representative with coordination, priorities and contractor performance.
- Ensure compliance with TotalEnergies H3SE standards, procedures and Golden Rules.
- Promote continuous improvement in quality, productivity, cost and schedule performance.
Qualifications
- Engineering or Offshore Supervisor background with minimum 15 years' Oil & Gas experience, preferably in SURF.
- Strong experience in offshore coating, painting and insulation activities.
- Proven experience on major EPCI projects.
- Construction/offshore installation background.
- Experience working on rigid pipelay vessels, PLSV and OSR vessels.
- Knowledge of S-lay and J-lay rigid pipelay and offshore structures installation.
- Strong experience with pipe coating inspection, including IMPP, IMPU, FBE and HBE liquid epoxy systems.
- Experience applying and inspecting coatings under offshore conditions.
- Level III Painting & Wet Insulation certification such as NS 476, ACQPA, FROSIO or NACE.
- Strong knowledge of relevant coating standards, including ISO 12736, ISO 21809-1, ISO 12944, ISO 8501/8502/8503, ISO 16276 and ISO 19840.
- Strong knowledge of SIMOPS, HSE and offshore safety requirements.
- Knowledge of TotalEnergies standards, including CR and GS, and familiarity with TotalEnergies Golden Rules.
- Strong QA/QC inspection and contractor-management experience.
- Ability to identify, analyse and resolve technical, HSE, quality, logistics and construction issues.
- Strong communication, organisational and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility in a demanding offshore environment.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.

- Offshore medical / fit-to-work certification (OGUK or equivalent)
