We are supporting the delivery of a world-scale onshore LNG development in Northern Mozambique. The project is currently in the construction phase and involves a large multinational contractor workforce operating on site.

We are seeking a senior Insulation, Coating & Passive Fire Protection (PFP) QA/QC Lead to take discipline ownership for all surface protection, thermal insulation and passive fire protection quality activities across the onshore development

Job Description

  • Lead QA/QC activities for coating, insulation and PFP works on site.
  • Review and approve Contractor/Subcontractor QCPs, ITPs and procedures.
  • Oversee surface preparation, coating, insulation and PFP inspections.
  • Verify WFT/DFT, adhesion, holiday testing, insulation thickness and PFP thickness.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes and manufacturer requirements.
  • Manage interfaces with Welding, Mechanical and Commissioning teams.
  • Review and close NCRs, technical queries and corrective actions.
  • Verify personnel qualifications, material traceability and storage controls.
  • Monitor quality KPIs and prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports.
  • Promote HSE, quality improvement and lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 15 years' QA/QC experience in coating, insulation and/or PFP.
  • Minimum 8 years in Lead/Supervisory roles on major Oil & Gas/LNG projects.
  • NACE/AMPP CIP Level 2/3 or BGAS-CSWIP Level 2/3 – mandatory.
  • Strong experience with cryogenic insulation systems: PIR/PUR, cellular glass and perlite.
  • Experience with epoxy intumescent and cementitious PFP systems.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 12944, ISO 8501/8502, ISO 19840, SSPC, NACE/AMPP and ASTM standards.
  • Experience with CUI and ESCC mitigation on stainless steel.
  • Proven experience managing coating-before-insulation and PFP-after-hydrotest interfaces.
  • Strong NCR, QMS, ITP and Contractor management experience.
  • Excellent English communication skills.
  • ICorr, PFP manufacturer training, CUI/CP qualifications and LNG/IOC experience are advantageous.
