Job Description
- Supervise electrical and instrumentation construction activities in accordance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
- Coordinate daily with EPC contractors to review workfront readiness, manpower, materials, equipment availability, permits, and construction priorities.
- Monitor installation of LV/MV electrical equipment, transformers, switchgear, motors, earthing, lighting systems, and instrumentation including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and Fire & Gas devices.
- Ensure proper cable installation, routing, segregation, glanding, termination, panel wiring, calibration, and loop checking activities.
- Verify compliance with approved engineering documentation including Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), cable schedules, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, instrument indexes, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Perform field quality inspections and monitor electrical testing including insulation resistance, continuity, functional testing, calibration, and signal verification.
- Identify and resolve construction issues, interface conflicts, and installation constraints with Civil, Mechanical, Piping, Rotating Equipment, QA/QC, and Commissioning teams.
- Lead daily HSE activities by enforcing Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), hazardous area requirements, and electrical safety procedures.
- Stop unsafe work whenever required and promote a strong safety culture across all construction activities.
- Monitor punch list close-out, NCR resolution, testing records, and pre-commissioning readiness.
- Support Mechanical Completion by maintaining accurate completions documentation and updating certification databases.
- Prepare daily progress reports covering construction progress, productivity, safety observations, constraints, and planned activities.
Qualifications
- Degree or Higher Technical Diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent trade qualification with significant supervisory experience.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Electrical & Instrumentation construction on large Oil & Gas, LNG, Petrochemical, or EPC projects.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a field supervision role.
- Strong experience supervising LV/MV electrical installations including transformers, MCCs, switchgear, motors, earthing, and lighting systems.
- Proven experience installing and commissioning instrumentation including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, and Fire & Gas systems.
- Thorough knowledge of cable pulling, cable tray installation, segregation, glanding, termination, and panel wiring.
- Experience with loop checking, instrument calibration, signal verification, and DCS/ESD/F&G interfaces.
- Experience with insulation resistance (IR), megger, continuity, functional testing, and electrical energization activities.
- Strong knowledge of hazardous area installations (IECEx/ATEX) and IEC 60079 standards; CompEx certification is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret and enforce engineering documentation including SLDs, cable schedules, loop drawings, hook-up drawings, instrument indexes, and ITPs.
- Experience managing NCRs, punch lists, inspection records, and completions databases such as ICAPS®, WinPCS, or GoCompletions.
- Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, Permit-to-Work systems, LOTO, and safe energization procedures.
- Strong coordination and communication skills with multidisciplinary construction and commissioning teams.
- Experience working on remote, multicultural construction projects.
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Medically fit for remote site assignment.

Work Schedule: 4 weeks on 4 weeks off rotation
Location: Remote construction site in Northern Mozambique
