Job Description

a Site Static Lead to serve as the senior technical authority for all Piping, Valves, and Vessels (PVV) scope on a large-scale onshore LNG construction project in Mozambique. This is a senior, rotational site leadership role with functional interfaces across Construction, QA/QC, Commissioning, and Contractor disciplines.
The role combines deep technical governance of PVV engineering deliverables with hands-on construction supervision, pre-commissioning oversight, and multidisciplinary interface coordination across one of the most complex facility scopes on the project — spanning two LNG trains, utilities, storage, and marine facilities.
– Manage and develop the Static engineering and supervision team on site
– Act as primary focal point for all PVV technical interfaces with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, QA/QC, and Commissioning
– Ensure proper interpretation of all PVV deliverables: isometrics, 3D model extracts, valve datasheets, P&IDs, and static equipment documentation
– Validate contractor technical solutions and ensure compliance with applicable standards and specifications
– Lead resolution of TQs, DERs, concessions, and critical technical clarifications affecting construction
– Guide construction teams on line installation, welding, NDE, torquing, and mechanical testing
– Ensure proper handling, preservation, and installation of all piping, valve types, and static equipment
– Lead review of hydrotest, pneumatic test, flushing, drying, and leak-testing procedures; supervise test packs and punch lists
– Verify as-built mark-ups, P&ID conformity, and MC dossier completeness for handover to commissioning
– Promote exemplary HSE behaviour; exercise stop-work authority for unsafe conditions

Qualifications

– Engineering degree in Mechanical, Piping, Petroleum, or equivalent discipline
– 10 to 15+ years of experience in piping, valve, and vessel engineering on major Oil & Gas or LNG megaprojects
– Strong background in piping design, layout, materials, stress, vibration, static equipment, cryogenic valve systems, and LNG-specific fabrication and testing
