Join a major LNG megaproject in East Africa supporting the construction and delivery of world-scale onshore gas infrastructure. The project involves large-scale EPC execution within a multicultural environment and offers the opportunity to work on critical rotating equipment installations through to mechanical completion and commissioning readiness in a challenging remote-site environment

Job Description

  • Supervise installation and alignment activities for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and generators
  • Coordinate daily with construction, QA/QC, commissioning, piping, civil, and E&I teams
  • Ensure workfront readiness including lifting plans, tooling, preservation, and access requirements
  • Monitor installation quality, alignment checks, grouting, bolting, lubrication, and preservation activities
  • Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities including flushing, rotation checks, vibration monitoring, and troubleshooting
  • Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, permit-to-work systems, and safe lifting operations
  • Review and validate technical documentation, inspection reports, punch lists, and turnover dossiers
  • Provide technical guidance to EPC supervisors, vendors, and field personnel

Qualifications

Experienced Industrial Coating, Passive Fire Protection (PFP) and Cryogenic Splash Protection (CSP) Supervisor to join the Owner's construction assurance team on a major LNG project in Mozambique. This is a site-based, rotational role focused on ensuring the quality and compliance of all coating, painting, PFP, and CSP works carried out by the EPC contractor and its subcontractors.
The role demands deep technical expertise across industrial liquid painting, intumescent and cementitious PFP systems, and LNG-rated cryogenic protection, combined with the inspection rigour and documentation discipline expected on a major international LNG project.

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in rotating equipment supervision within Oil & Gas or LNG megaprojects
  • Strong expertise with compressors, turbines, pumps, generators, and packaged equipment
  • Proven experience in installation, alignment, preservation, and pre-commissioning activities
  • Strong understanding of QA/QC processes and HSE standards on construction sites
  • Experience working in multinational EPC environments and remote-site operations
  • Fluent English required; French or Portuguese is considered an advantage
  • Strong coordination, reporting, and problem-solving skills

Rotational Schedule: 4 weeks on 4 weeks off

Location: Afungi Site, Mozambique

Starting date: October 2026

Duration: 1 year, renewable
