Company Description

A major LNG greenfield development requires an experienced Construction Area Manager to lead site execution activities for key process and utility systems. The role is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality, and schedule-compliant delivery of critical infrastructure including flare & vent systems, water treatment facilities, propane storage, and API tanks, from construction through pre-commissioning readiness and handover to commissioning.

Job Description

  • Lead site construction activities within assigned area, ensuring safe and efficient execution
  • Drive strong HSE leadership culture across Client, EPC, and subcontractor teams
  • Oversee installation readiness and construction of LNG-related systems and utilities
  • Coordinate daily construction activities in line with project execution plans and procedures
  • Monitor progress, identify deviations, and implement mitigation actions with EPC Contractor
  • Ensure effective interface management between disciplines and systems
  • Support preparation and execution of pre-commissioning and SIMOPS activities
  • Review method statements, risk assessments, and execution plans for compliance and constructability
  • Ensure QA/QC processes are implemented and continuously improved
  • Maintain strong on-site presence to oversee quality, safety, and contractor performance
  • Report construction progress, risks, and key issues to project management
  • Coordinate procurement and logistics for critical equipment and materials
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, standards, and permitting requirements
  • Participate in technical reviews, planning meetings, and lessons learned activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent Level 6 qualification)
  • 15+ years’ experience in large-scale industrial projects
  • Minimum 5 years in a construction management or leadership role
  • Strong experience in LNG, refinery, petrochemical, GTL, or gas processing projects
  • Proven track record on greenfield EPC projects
  • Strong knowledge of HSE, QA/QC, construction execution, and project controls
  • Experience managing complex multi-discipline interfaces
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence EPC contractors and critical project decisions
  • Strong English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Portuguese or French is an advantage
