The Mozambique LNG Project, led by our client - multinational energy operator, is a $18B onshore LNG development in Northern Mozambique. Facilities include 2 LNG trains (13 mtpa), storage, marine facilities, utilities, and extensive site infrastructure. The project is remote, with peak personnel of ~15,000, and is financed by high-profile lenders

Job Description

  • Provide technical support for site civil/structural activities, including letters, claims, and disputes.
  • Respond to site Technical Queries, Deviation Requests, Concession Requests, Non-Conformance Reports, and Waiver Requests.
  • Oversee punch list rectification, on-site tests, and erection of discipline-related equipment.
  • Propose alternative on-site solutions to expedite work while meeting project requirements.
  • Support construction activities and interface with contractor civil/structural teams.
  • Participate in meetings, report deviations impacting asset integrity or schedule, and assist in progress claim evaluations.
  • Ensure adherence to HSE requirements and contribute to a strong safety culture.
  • Assist the Civil/Structural Lead in all aspects of site management and coordination.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years’ practical experience in civil/structural works for industrial plants.
  • Strong English communication skills; Portuguese or French is an advantage.
  • Solid knowledge of technical codes, standards, and project execution best practices.
  • Analytical, results-oriented, adaptable, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong HSE awareness and leadership to influence safety-critical decisions.
  • Experience in large, complex industrial projects with focus on safety, quality, cost, schedule, and organizational competency.
