Company Description

The Mozambique LNG Project is a US$20 billion deepwater subsea-to-shore gas development in northern Mozambique, delivered over five years by 1,500+ global staff. It features a 17,000-acre LNG facility with marine infrastructure and a private airstrip.

The project includes two LNG trains producing 12.88 MTPA over a 25-year life from 18 subsea wells via seven production manifolds, trunklines, flowlines, and MEG lines, supported by 25 control modules, 11 umbilicals, 12 UTAs, and 48 flexible jumpers.

Job Description

  • Lead and oversee the Pemba Site Team during installation and construction phases, ensuring alignment with project objectives.

  • Serve as the senior Upstream installation representative at Pemba Site, liaising closely with the TEPMA1 team in Muxara.

  • Monitor, report, review, and manage all EPCI activities, including risk management, to ensure schedule, technical, quality, and HSES requirements are met or exceeded.

  • Provide leadership in resolving interface issues efficiently and cost-effectively, coordinating with managers, senior discipline engineers, and all stakeholders, including Paris and Afungi teams.

  • Proactively identify and resolve potential clashes between contractor requirements (e.g., site access, vessel approaches) while keeping the EPCI Installation Manager informed.

  • Ensure the implementation and strict adherence to safe systems of work for all EPCI activities.

  • Align Pemba Team organization with project phases, ensuring timely mobilization and demobilization of resources.

  • Establish and implement effective processes and ways of working appropriate to ongoing activities.

  • Ensure all activities comply with project technical requirements and are fit for purpose.

  • Lead HSSE performance initiatives, monitor compliance, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.

  • Champion Quality Assurance and Control, ensuring high standards of quality performance across all site activities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 20 years relevant track record in offshore installation activities, with a minimum of 15 years’ experience in management of installation activities for large-scale EPCI contracts, including logistics, critical lifts, resource management, and risk identification and mitigation

  • Proven team leadership and management experience, knowledgeable and experienced in general deep-water installation aspects

  • Ability to work well with others in an international and multi-cultural environment and take a pragmatic approach to problem-solving

  • Ability to develop good working relationships with contractors and contractor personnel and progress collaborative problem-solving

  • Able to assess and analyze contractor installation plans and procedures and evaluate the robustness of overall execution planning

  • Fluent in English and capable of representing the project professionally and in an organized manner to all stakeholders; Portuguese is a plus

  • Tertiary-level education preferred

  • Current BOSIET and OGUK medical
