Salary: $110,000 - $135,000

What We Are Looking For
IOMAXIS dba MAXISIQ is seeking a self-motivated, curious and creative Software Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA (Ballston neighborhood).

Technical Focus Areas
What types of projects will you be building? We are focused on developing solutions and innovations within the following technical focus areas:

  • Computer, network, and software security
  • Applied cryptography
  • Cross-domain solutions
  • Distributed systems
  • Virtual machine and container orchestration
  • API development
  • System integration

The Role
You will work with a team of software engineers to develop software applications, focusing on secure infrastructures, while building new and exciting capabilities for enabling next-generation communications and security capabilities for our customers. In this role, you will also work to maintain, update, and routinely deploy a suite of applications, enabling the management of virtual compute resources across security domains and network boundaries. You will collaborate with systems, networking, and information security teams to provide a holistic solution meeting complex customer requirements. We expect you to learn rapidly, and apply your problem solving skills to building cutting edge software for emerging cyber technologies. In addition, you will:

  • Write and review source code written in Rust and Python
  • Design and optimize software functions to meet evolving customer needs
  • Work with and develop Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Improve the continuous monitoring capabilities of software systems by expanding metrics gathering to provide insight into system operation, performance, errors, etc.
  • Build proofs-of-concept and prototypes for new ideas and technologies
  • Document cost/benefit analysis of different system designs, architectures, and integration of emerging technologies
  • Have the opportunity to mentor other software engineers
  • Create and maintain software documentation (i.e., README files, user guides, developer guides, configuration guides, architecture and data flow diagrams, etc.)

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or similar

Minimal Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of relevant full-time professional experience
  • High proficiency in a language such as C, C#, Python, or Rust
  • Experience using, and developing software for, Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Experience working in team environments within an agile development framework
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong demonstrable software engineering and problem solving skills
  • Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of computer and network security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing and deploying software in containerized environments
  • Experience developing distributed systems
  • Experience with applied network programming
  • Experience performing rapid software engineering development work
  • Experience mentoring junior-level software engineers
  • Experience with technical writing

Required Clearance:

  • Clearance eligible, or active TS/SCI (preferred)
