Job Title: Cybersecurity Engineer 

Salary Range: $100K-170K (depending on experience, location, and clearance level)

This position is focused on developing innovative, secure multi-domain operations (MDO) solutions for our Government and commercial industry partners . The MDO technology focus areas span multiple disciplines, including, but not limited to:

  • Network engineering
  • Containerization
  • Embedded aviation system deployment environments
  • DevSecOps

The Role

You will work closely with our customers  to identify and refine requirements, articulate challenges, and provide solutions. You will be an integral contributor to the development of the overall cybersecurity technical vision, collaborating closely with our research and development and software development teams to prototype and implement new cybersecurity solutions, capabilities, and features. It will be your responsibility to effectively communicate and execute the cybersecurity technical strategy to meet schedules and ensure base solution continuity across multiple customers .

In addition to developing, documenting, and executing the technical vision for our cybersecurity offering, you will also be responsible for identifying gaps, and planning for modifications and system integration efforts into customer infrastructures. This includes customer driven changes.

The Cybersecurity Engineer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform as Lead for cybersecurity across the organization
  • Collaborating with the customer to develop requirements and functional specifications
  • Assess and evaluate security design architectures
  • Provide gap assessments and solutions to maintain a strong security posture
  • Maintain compliance by adhering to mandated security requirements
  • Support program managers and facilitate security project deliverables; devise security strategies
  • Working between architecture-level and implementation-level engineering meetings to maintain a system-wide view of security functions, and apply risk mitigation strategies at the appropriate level
  • Subject matter expert for all security control and related process areas
  • Research new approaches and technologies that could enhance security posture or automate existing processes
  • Promote adoption of secure boot, secure file systems, authentication for secure information exchange, firewalls, integrity checks, key management, factory programming and other embedded hardware measures
  • Interface with all product domains such as software, hardware, and production to ensure the proper implementation of security requirements
  • Support the development of policies, processes, and evidence to maintain compliance with DFARS and NIST cybersecurity standards
  • Assessing the current systems in place to identify opportunities of improvement
  • Communicating the overall cybersecurity technical vision across various teams
  • Tracking specifications, standards, guidelines, and requirement changes and updates, appropriately modifying the systems architecture

 

Qualifications

Education:

  • Either a bachelor’s degree (and nine [9] years or more experience) or a master’s degree (and five [5] years) or more experience) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar Engineering discipline, from an accredited university/college

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a robust working knowledge of aviation embedded (GPP, GPU, FPGA based compute) processing systems architecture and security
  • 5-9+ years (depending on education experience) of cybersecurity experience including knowledge of cybersecurity features, best practices, and principles
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust design principles and compliance with authorities such as NIST 800-207 or NCRA
  • Experience in achieving an ATO(s) through any of the following security frameworks: FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, NIST 800-171, CNSS 1253, etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in understanding and documenting information system specifications and security controls, including logical and physical diagrams, connectivity, communication, and data flow diagrams, both internal and external to the system
  • Experience using, and developing software for, Linux/Unix operating systems
  • Thorough understanding of the fundamentals of computer and network security
  • Experience working in an agile development environment
  • Ability to work within large collaborative organizations
  • Strong, efficient, and effective written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills
  • Comfortable working with emerging technologies
  • Ability to rapidly respond to customer directed changes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting Navy and Marine Corps in aviation systems engineering
  • Embedded systems experience
  • Possess Industry or DoD 8570 compliant certifications (i.e., Security+ CE, CISSP, CEH, or equivalent)
  • Experience conducting and/or supporting DevSecOps
  • Familiarity with the National Cross Domain Strategy and Management Office “Raise the Bar” standard for CDS development
  • Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting roles and responsibilities

Required Clearance:

  • Ability to be successfully adjudicated for and maintain a U.S.-sponsored security clearance up to TS/SCI

Travel Requirement:

  • Approximately 20% travel required #CJ
