Job Description

We are looking for a talented Database Administrator with a service-oriented mentality who is capable of maintaining enterprise grade and scalable SQL Server infrastructure to join our INgrooves Music Group Infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of professional database administration experience managing Microsoft SQL Server database servers in both transactional and data warehousing environments, as well as implementing ETL, data warehouse and automation processes. Preference will be given to candidates with past experience in Postgres environments, AWS cloud deployments, automated deployment and NoSQL implementations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Installation, administration and maintenance of new and existing databases in standalone, clustered and virtualized environments
  • Ensure databases backed up to meet the required Recovery Point Objectives and Recovery Time Objectives
  • Configure utilities for monitoring, alerting and metric gathering to prevent performance issues
  • Configure and support database replication and clustering
  • Performance/tuning optimization including hardware, server configuration, index and query analysis
  • Assist in developing and documenting best practice procedures, standards, guidelines, and ensuring compliance within the database environment

Qualifications

  • Supporting Very Large Databases and Data Warehouse in both Production and QA environments
  • In-depth knowledge of SQL Server, Development tools, Transactional Replication, HA Solutions, Backup/Restore, Profiler, Linked Servers, Server-level Performance, Tuning/optimizing T-SQL queries
  •  PostgreSQL: Streaming Replication, HA Solution, Backup/Restore, Index Tuning and  Performance Optimization
  •  Working with development teams in an agile environment
  •  Familiar with cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS
  •  Automated deployments using tools like Ansible, Octopus, Docker
  •  NoSQL database engine experience such as MongoDB, ArangoDB
