Job Description
We are seeking a 2nd shift Mill Operator to work with us. We have a very competitive starting pay plus a shift differential. The person in this role will manufacture ink in a safe and efficient manner of high-quality printing ink by performing any or all of these duties as directed. As an Ink Maker/Ink Tech you will be responsible for:
- Following batch instructions to weight batches, charge and mix inks
- Understanding proper mixing procedures and raw materials
- Monitoring temperature and mix speeds and adjust as needed
- Following procedures for milling inks, adjusting pump speeds and mill rates
- Following procedures to filter, package and label inks
- Making QC adjustments as instructed
- Weighting quantities of raw materials for use in manufacturing of high-quality printing ink
- Operating one or more mixers in a safe and efficient manner to mix raw materials for manufacturing of high-quality printing ink
- Packaging finished product
- Operating a forklift
Qualifications
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:
- Work with R&D and Production Managers and use quantitative and qualitative research skills to assess new product success outcome and make recommendations for process improvements
- Have a High school diploma or (GED) desired; or 1-3 months related experience
- Possess good math and basic computer skills
- Have attention to detail
- Be reliable to work assigned shift
- Be flexible to work overtime as required
- Work side-by-side with the scheduling team, Quality Coordinator, and Preventative Maintenance team. Able to ensure that all products and services contribute to sustainability and greater good of the company
- Demonstrate exceptional attendance
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. as required
In addition to these qualifications, we will consider as a plus if you have:
- Previous experience within the Ink Industry
- Mill, and Pump filter industry background
- Two or more years of related manufacturing experience
- A strong Autonomous Maintenance (AM) background
- Forklift experience
