Job Description
We are experiencing tremendous growth in the area of flexible packaging in our solvent ink division, so we invite you to be a part of this exciting and growing team! As a R&D Chemist you will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting issues with existing technologies, as well as assisting with customer challenges
- Developing UV/EB inks and coatings
- Conducting various tests including analytical, formulation, small batch manufacturing, pigment dispersion, and print
- Providing technical information to customers to help in the design, qualification, and troubleshooting of product development
- Staying up-to-date with new market trends and new technological changes in the analytical and chemical industry
Qualifications
To perform your job as expected, you will be required to:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or an equivalent degree
- 0-5 years of experience formulating inks and coatings
- Excellent math and science, written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency
In addition to these qualifications, we will consider it a plus if you have:
- Knowledge of lithographic offset printing processes
- Knowledge in rheology, pigment dispersions, interfacial/colloidal science, polymer chemistry, and color science
- Ink and coating formulation experience
- SAP knowledge
- MiniTab, statistical analysis experience
- Knowledge & experience with GC, GC/MS, FTIR, Karl Fischer, etc.
