Job Description

Semiconductor Application Engineer 1 role is designed to conduct INFICON product evaluations, offer deployment and application support to semiconductor fabrication factories.

Responsibilities:

  • Deploy and Support sensor integration and FabGuard Software Platform on broad array of semiconductor process equipment..
  • Create recipes and data analysis of tool based sensors (data),  INFICON sensors and the customer’s sensors for the purposes of Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) using FabGuard
  • Provide technical assistance within areas of specialty for customers.
  • Provide written and oral feedback to the customer on applications work including process troubleshooting, recipe development, and installation procedures.
  • Identify unexplored process areas where INFICON sensors and software can add value to the customer.
  • Provide written and oral feedback to onsite account Manager on weekly activities, customer requests, needs and requirements.
  • Provide onsite training on INFICON products including FabGuard FDC software, INFICON hardware usage and basic troubleshooting.
  • Provide installation support of INFICON equipment as needed, which includes sensors, FabGuard software and He Leak Detectors.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor of Science degree in (Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or related sciences) with 0-2 years’ work experience preferably in Semiconductors
  • Solid understanding of Semiconductor Processes and OEM tools including Lithography, PVD and CVD. Broad understanding of ALD, Etch and CMP is desirable. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both external and internal customer relationships.
  • Ability to adapt to various field situations and to foster strong relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Requires strong Analytical Skills and Critical Thinking to Solve Complex Problems
  • Ability to travel (approximately 20-25%), both domestically and internationally.

Additional Information

For New York, the expected salary range for this position is between $60,000 and $90,000 per year. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit sharing bonus with a target of 5%.  The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law
