Job Description

Responsible for providing technical and quality direction as well as oversee all aspects of our quality and technical production processes. To randomly select and analyze data from production and supplier samples. Communicate analysis to appropriate personnel and maintain the Quality System for compliance. Involved in daily and/or monthly Quality and Safety audits of equipment and personnel

Job Responsibilities & Tasks

Standards of Performance:

  • Ability to communicate and work well with others.
  • Basic understanding of computers.
  • Makes “run/don’t run” call with input from Plant Manager, Production Manager.
  • Meet all Environmental compliance as required.
  • Meet safety targets and ICORE standards.
  • Meet safety targets and audit timelines.
  • Meets all Environmental compliance (Air Permits, Waste, Storm Water, Etc.)
  • Meets quality targets (number of complaints and NCM)
  • Meet installation timelines for equipment and support equipment.

 

Specific duties:

  • Responsible for creating an environment of teamwork focused on producing quality products.
  • Ensures machine Preventive Management is performed according to the schedule.
  • Set the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines and holds self and others accountable.
  • Keep the area clean and organized.
  • Initiates and supports improvement initiatives.
  • Other duties as instructed by Plant Manager and/or General Manager.
  • Trained in Quality System and Internal Auditing and be able to train others within the facility.
  • Maintain open communication with employees and ensure their improvement ideas of operation concerns are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Familiar with all lab equipment and understand the data associated with the testing.
  • Coordinate with sales group on new projects for the building of potential jobs.
  • Develop and maintain workflow for all technical trials, distribute reports and make recommendations on changes needed to meet customer goals.
  • Maintain open communication with employees and ensure their improvement ideas of operation concerns are reviewed and addressed in a timely manner.
  • Research materials, pricing, and related activities associated with the purchase of materials.
  • Maintain ISO Quality System with certification.
  • Develop FSCC Food Standard with certification.
  • Generate drawings of all specifications for shop floor with specifics on gauge, width, print, length, etc.
  • Improve the process as an individual and as a team member
  • Develop custom tools to improve workflow in technical and quality areas.
  • Provide business decision-making and technical directions for films.
  • Make customer visits to review any issues with the performance of products and make recommendations on improvement.

Knowledge:

  • Understanding of all products being produced in facility in relation to all technical data, performance on customers equipment, etc.
  • Basic understanding of all lab machine functions.
  • Basic understanding of Quality systems and Food Safety standards.
  • Must have working knowledge of flexible packaging.

Required Job Qualifications & Competencies:

  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Excellent communication & leadership skills
  • Ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
  • Minimum of five-year experience in petrochemical packaging. 

Physical Demand:

  • No lifting in area
