Inventory Control Specialist
Job Type: Full-time
The inventory control specialist has the primary responsibility of increasing and maintaining company profitability by maintaining accurate inventory levels with our Microsoft Dynamics ERP system; the candidate also ensures that optimal inventory is present and ready for use. Defines goals, resolves problems in conjunction with managers across the organization against our KPIs of safety, quality, delivery, inventory, and productivity.
KEY INTERFACES:
- Accounting/Finance staff of all levels
- Production & Operations team
- Shipping & Receiving
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Accounting, Production, Receiving & Shipping teams to review, cost, and close work orders. Troubleshoot issues and help provide solutions.
- Ensure materials are properly labeled, with correct units of measure, and in the correct locations.
- Perform cycle counts, aisle audits and assist in physical inventories.
- Perform movements of inventory utilizing material handling equipment.
- Research and reconcile differences in counts and inventory inaccuracies.
- Work on inventory-related projects such as disposals, relocation of inventory, consolidation/organization, sorting, relabeling, and repackaging.
- Assist manufacturing and warehouse personnel in maintaining a high level of inventory accuracy.
- Enter inventory-related transactions utilizing scanners and Microsoft Dynamics AX.
- Keeps area for returned goods tidy and clean.
- Generate reports, spreadsheets and other information as needed to accomplish tasks.
- Follows all existing company policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Inventory management and distribution center experience
- Forklift experience preferred
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Analytical mind, hard worker, time management
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively
- Advanced Excel computer skills
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Associate degree in Accounting or Computer Science
- 2 – 5 years of experience in manufacturing Inventory management
- Experience working with Microsoft AX Dynamic system or similar a plus
