The iKTribe is on the lookout for a meticulous and analytical UI Designer to lead and revitalize our product design team's design system.

So, what will you do?

You will address past challenges by ensuring accessibility and creating a clear development roadmap.

In this role you will be pivotal in managing the design system for several product teams, focusing on standardisation, innovation, and effective integration with UI frameworks like React and Material-UI.

In addition you will

• Assume complete ownership of the design system, emphasising accessibility and discoverability.
• Address past issues with cross platform accessibility and ensure compliance with basic accessibility standards.
• Develop components with universal design principles in mind to cater to diverse user needs.
• Serve as the central liaison for all design system matters.
• Work closely with product teams, understanding their unique design challenges, especially in varied UI contexts like card machines, Apple, Android, and web views.
• Create and maintain comprehensive, accessible documentation and standards.
• Develop a clear, committed roadmap for the progression of design components, enhancing transparency and understanding of their development stages.
• Expertly integrate existing UI frameworks such as React and Material-UI. Transition from custom components to pre-designed libraries for improved development synergy.
• Continually infuse the design system with innovative ideas and technologies.
• Stay abreast of UI/UX trends to keep the design system advanced and relevant.
• Establish a feedback loop for iterative improvements.
• Tackle design challenges with strong problem-solving skills, particularly addressing unique needs across different applications and platforms.

• Degree or diploma is advantageous, as well as multimedia and/or human interface design courses.

Deal Breakers

• 5+ years or more experience in a digitally-focused UX/UI design role.
• Experience in a dynamic team environment that requires good communication skills.
• Experience with Agile project methodology is advantageous.
• Proven experience as a UI Designer, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise in design systems and accessibility in design.
• Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with other design tools.
• Demonstrated experience with UI frameworks like React and Material-UI.

• Solid understanding and application of user-centered design and accessibility principles.
• Experience in developing and managing design documentation, standards, and roadmaps.
