Job Description
We’re in search of a super special Product Designer! We’re looking for a Thinker and Maker, someone who solves problems through empathy and has an exceptional eye for design.

As a Product Designer, you will ensure our products and features are valuable for people, easy to use, and of the highest level of craft and execution. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills.
You’ll take full ownership of your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way. You will take charge of clearly communicating the aesthetics, personality and function of our products and systems and will be working in close collaboration with the tech leads, development teams and designers.
In addition to the above, you will:
- Come up with solutions which invoke positive feelings and thus builds a personal bonding.
- Create elegant and customer-focused designs that provide our customers with a superior experience.
Deal Breakers:
- Fluency with design tools, most notably Adobe XD, Sketch, Invision, Axure RP, OmniGraffle, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and / or other UX and prototyping software.
- Knowledge of agile practices, design thinking, visual design, interaction design, information architecture, and latest design industry trends.
- Proven track record in creating successful, functional and usable designs.
- Fluency in best practices for Experience Design, Information Architecture and Interaction Design.
- Ability to quickly turn around rigorous wireframes and mock-ups in an iterative environment.
- A strong awareness of common usability methods and principles.
- An impressive portfolio, excellent collaboration, written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, follow-through, and zero-error attitude.
- The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task in an agile environment.
- A clean sense of design aesthetics and a natural propensity towards simplification over complication.
So, what will you do?
- Understand product specifications and user psychology across the customer lifecycle in order to inform UX designs in both web and app instances.
- Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback while working with usability analysts, end users, product management and engineering teams in developing compelling UX deliverables and specifications.
- Create personas through user research and data.
- Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success with tried and tested research methodologies.
- Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs and in alignment with our business goals and technical constraints.
- Find creative ways to solve UX problems (e.g. usability, findability).
- Define, craft and evolve designs within visual systems and/or standards
- Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.
- Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends.
- Proactively identify UX areas of improvement across all of the iKhokha digital channels.
- Work with the business to overlay data and analytics in making UX decisions.
- Participate and contribute in collaboration with our key stakeholders to envision, define, document and evangelize user experiences for both our web and mobile based applications.
- Work on multiple projects in parallel and take individual ownership of assignments from initial concept to delivery.
- Ability to simplify and turn complex interactions into intuitive user experiences in line with global best practice.
Qualifications
- A relevant design related Degree
- HFI Certification (Advantageous).
