About the job
To use knowledge of IKEA and the local market to work together with the Store management teams, the store teams to support in steering the store towards growth, optimal performance and sustained long term profitability. I work in an inspiring, supportive and challenging way in line with the IKEA objectives and values. I always take a multidimensional view, considering customer, commercial, people, financial and operational perspectives, taking into account external national influences and global trends.
Your assignment
- Ensure our store is always a safe and secure environment for visitors and co-workers and that our property is safeguarded.
- Proactive in using all the information and tools available, to ensure a multidimensional approach to steering the business in order to achieve growth and sustained long term profitability with our customers in focus, interact with customers and co-workers and understand what is working and what is not.
- Proactively working with local market data to understand peoples’ life at home in order to support sales growth and understanding the IKEA range and commercial priorities in order to support and contribute to the commercial agenda.
- Working together with the commercial team and the shopkeepers and IKEA Food (IF) to broaden our commercial and financial knowledge, in order to maximise the commercial opportunities in our local market. I encourage taking fast action on opportunities as well as acting on customer feedback, competition, supply and performance analysis.
- Seeking and identifying business opportunities which will grow sales and improve gross profit by using all available information and benchmarking with other stores. Actively lead and develop co-operation across all areas of the store, through working closely together, sharing knowledge and showing understanding of each other’s responsibilities in order to achieve our objectives.
- Actively contributing to the development of the store Business Plan, local Marketing Plan and Commercial Strategy, ensuring it is aligned with IKEA global directions, the country’s priorities and local potential.
- Responsible for accurate administration in accordance with the legal framework in our country and the IKEA financial rules.
- Providing an inspiring direction and by getting people to work together towards our common objectives.
- Establish the trust and respect of the people I work with in order to achieve my agreed goals.
Qualifications

- Previous management experience in a financial/commercial role with proven analytical and numerical skills.

- Experience of setting and implementing action plans, setting budgets, provide clear direction and following up goals and leading in a changing environment.
- Ability to quickly develop knowledge of the local market and business conditions and take commercial decisions based on this information.
- Ability to communicate confidently and clearly in English.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel).
