Job Description
We are looking for a Learning & Development Manager for our Country Service Office in Mexico.
Having previous experience working in L&D within an IKEA Organisation is essential.
Your tasks will include:
- Support and guide in the recruitment and introduction process.
- Ensure training investments are aligned to the budget process and allows set targets for learning activities to meet best Return Of Investments.
- Building Business Competence
- Set up the long term strategy for succession planning using management and competence review as the main tool and method for success
- Create a business and value-driven diversity adapted to store needs
- Ensure that organisation has a systematic approach to learning and development following the learning staircase when building business competence
- Establish and implement a competence mapping tool together with the functional responsible
- Ensure all development activities meets current and future needs with a high quality of content
- Create an atmosphere where knowledge sharing, internal promotion throughout Mexico and high commitment to Ikano results in an organisation that enables to attract, retain and develop talented co-workers
- Secure that the on boarding process is used and followed up in the stores
- Leading for Performance
- Support managers in the development talk/performance appraisals process.
- Make sure competence profiles can be updated and developed to meet business needs now, and in the future.
- Ensure that simple learning solutions are available and prioritised to business needs, with a high respect and understanding for the store and shopping centre environment
- Measure the business impact of learning solutions to evaluate their effectiveness and take action as needed.
- Implement a structure and a leadership approach for managers to be able to strengthen their individual leadership capability to meet both current situation and future business needs, e.g a leadership learning offer, 360 tool, assessment tools etc.
- Actively contribute that we build a common leadership language reflecting our leadership capabilities.
- Coach and support managers based on individual needs
- Support the organisation in Voice survey, ensure goals and actions are identified, communicated and followed up.
- Reinforce and strengthen the IKEA culture in the business
- Ensure that the organisation represent an environment with both high job satisfaction and a high job commitment
Qualifications
Essential
- Understand and buy into company culture & values.
- Leadership earned through at least 8 years of management experience
- Fluent in English (written and spoken),
- Trustworthy, honest, fair, good judgment
- Ability to facilitate leadership programmes, workshops, team activities, etc
Preferred
- University degree and extensive professional training or similar qualifications
- Ability to acquire and analyse local market demographics, economic and labour market conditions.
- Retail background
- Interest in home furnishings
- Experience of working in Mexico
- Ability to be hands-on when needed
- Computer literate
