IKA Works, Inc., a German-based equipment manufacturer located in Wilmington, NC, is expanding its position as a world leader in Laboratory, Analytical and Process technology for mixing, dispersing, stirring, grinding, homogenizing and other types of processing.

Seeking a candidate with  2 - 5 years with applications, industrial sales or industrial engineering experience. Applicants must be highly motivated, problem solvers, customer-focused and results-oriented team players.

• Provide Sales, Engineering, and support for all Process Systems made by IKA and specifying auxiliary equipment purchased by IKA.
• Provide simple systems lay-out, costing, and proposals.
• Primary responsibility is to prepare process system proposals for projects that require significant technical knowledge.
• Provide accurate and timely pricing and product support to Sales Manager. This would include lead times, pricing, pre-engineering/layouts and manufacturing developments affecting customer orders, etc.
• Coordinating  with engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing groups to provide customers with the best possible solutions to meet their requirements.
• Develop new systems lay-outs for new applications, markets, and accounts and provide technical assistance on all IWW plants, integrated systems and special projects.
• Work with Sales Managers to provide system-proposals and technical knowledge in support of pre-sales activities.
• Disseminate technical information regarding applications and processes for plants and systems and identify customer needs with Regional Sales Managers.
• Conference calling with Sales Manager and Customers in order to identify customers goal and needs.
• Assist in specifying, quoting, and pre-engineering of plants, simple systems design and equipment modifications to meet product quality goal.
• Identify and develop pre-purchase condition for all auxiliary system components.
• Combine all information to a process-system-proposal.
• Research and Develop processes for existing or potential IWW plants and systems to meet customer goal and / or targeted application.
• Assist Pilot Plant testing and sample evaluation of customer samples & develop targeted market processes.
• Optimize chemistry & physics and equipment and/or system design to solve customer problems and / or develop new markets.
• Evaluation of new IKA process products for inclusion into plants and systems.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Minimum qualifications include:

• B.S. in Industrial Engineering, a comparable technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
  
• Experience in fluid dynamic calculations, in particular hydrodynamics.
• 2 - 5 years prior applications and industrial sales or industrial engineering experience.
• Experience in mixing, dispersing, milling, blending, homogenizing, pumping, reaction enhancement technologies and associated process or plant design a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with advanced verbal and written communication skills.
• Advanced math skills including geometry, trigonometry and calculus.
• Ability to define problems collects and analyzes data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• May be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
• Valid driver's license.
