Job Description

Job Purpose

Work with site vendors/ contractors to ensure sites and infrastructure on sites are maintained and operated efficiently. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform daily supervision of contractors’/ vendors’ O&M activities across sites, ensuring Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), due dates, and specifications are strictly adhered to. 

  • Conduct spot-check inspections and job completion assessments. Supervise end-to-end maintenance schedule and quality assurance. 

  • Complete physical inspections across sites in assigned cluster within specified timelines. 

  • Support community liaison activities. 

  • Take ownership of all planned work activities across assigned sites. 

  • Recommend new processes where needed to improve quality and/ or on-time delivery. 

  • Receive diesel supply from vendors and sign off on waybill and site logbook. 

  • Ensure diesel supply to sites is adequate for every cycle. Alert assigned Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager on diesel levels/ shortfalls. 

  • Ensure diesel waybills are delivered to the regional office within stipulated timeframe. 

  • Visit vendor warehouses at the beginning of every cycle to ensure availability of PPM materials. 

  • Check daily PPM activities in line with validation plan, using approved checklist. Also, use PPM Live to carry out spot checks and provide feedback to the regional Maintenance Planning Specialist. 

  • Validate snag fixing and provide feedback as appropriate. 

  • Identify the need for non-routine maintenance work and provide detailed information on site status. 

  • Follow up on non-routine maintenance work being carried out and ensure compliance with quality and schedule. 

  • Coordinate all site cut-over activities and escalate all RMS and solar solution issues across sites. 

  • Identify the need for asset replacement on site and present business case for the request. 

  • Escalate all site access/ restriction issues and theft cases as appropriate. 

  • Perform integrated site audit on allocated sites. 

  • Fill an Asset Tracking Document (ATD) per decommissioned asset highlighting count and status of assets. Obtain vendor sign-off and forward physical copy of ATD to assigned Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager. 

  • Sign off Job Completion Certificate (JCC). 

  • Report Preliminary Acceptance Testing (PAT) status daily. 

  • Escalate issues on site post-takeover to the Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager. 

  • Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to curb any problems that may arise. 

  • Prepare and submit reports to the Field Operations Team Leader and/ or Regional Technical Operations Manager on all matters pertaining to job area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering or related discipline. 

  • +4 years’ relevant experience in telecoms O&M
