Job Description

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Liaison with designers to ensure design are efficient and safe to build
  • To hold the responsibility of making ensuring all standard checks for designs for site audit, BTS sites, Upgrade sites have passed and are in line with necessary specification and standards 
  • Liaise with procurement department for the selection of vendors. Analyse existing structures (poles, truss towers, guyed towers, etc.) for lateral and vertical loads and determine overall capacity of a given structure. 
  • Produce drawings (CAD) regarding the installation, construction, or modifications to telecommunication structures. 
  • Approval of detailed construction methodologies produced by the project teams
  • Approval of inspection and test plans produced by the project teams
  • Review and approval of structural calculations and reports
  • Review submissions for quality and sufficiency
  • Carry out progress reporting, including the identification of relevant issues, risks and opportunities; this includes input to the project integrated plan
  • Provide realistic programme status, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans
  • Prepare and submit reports to the Manager, Engineering Projects on all matters pertaining to the unit’s work activities.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Manager, Engineering Projects

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education

  • Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline  
  • Professional project management certifications such as PMP and PRINCE2 would be advantageous 

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in the telecommunications industry
  • Extensive project management experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of safety and environmental standards
